The sky is dark
The clouds are thick
Everything is cold.
The ice is dangerous
This winter night
Hope seems lost
Warmth is just a dream
A faint, whispering memory
Where is the light?
I can not see.
I’m falling, tripping over the ice.
Screaming in pain.
I hate this cold.
I hate this dark.
I wish it could end,
But that seems impossible.
There is no end in sight.
In fact, there is nothing at all in sight.
And when all hope seems gone
When all my dreams seem shattered,
A tiny ray
Breaks through the clouds.
A burst of light!
A ray of warmth.
A miracle.
It warms me, from within.
It creates a burst of energy
Lighting a fire inside of me
Not a raging fire,
Just a strong burning flame.
It’s a flame of hope.
Of change.
The ice starts melting.
The sun shines stronger.
The darkness has ended.
With a small ray of light.
My vision is returned.
Some call it the crack of dawn
I say, it’s a miracle.
One day, soon
This galus will end.
The darkness is almost through.
This bitter cold will end.
Transformation from night to day
Is just the difference of one small ray.
That ray of light
Can be just a small act of kindness,
Which breaks through the ice
And bursts through the dark clouds.
Shining light into the deepest crevices.
Some call it a random act of kindness.
I say, it’s a miracle.
